Update 2/11/20

Following the Government’s announcement, unfortunately XC will be closed from Thursday 5th November. We have not taken membership payments for November and these will re-start the day we open.  If you have a pre-paid membership, this will be extended by the duration we are closed for.

If you wish to continue paying your Monthly Membership to help support our charity, we will be incredibly grateful -please email enquiries@thexc.co.uk.

How are we keeping you and our team safe?

  • Reduced session sizes in the skatepark (40 people) tall wall climbing area (20 people) and bouldering (14 people)
  • Reduced session times (2.5 or 3hrs) – max 2 bookable per day
  • Pre-book and pay online
  • High Ropes and Caving remain closed
  • Sanitation Stations all around the site
  • Increased cleaning by our team
  • One way systems in place
  • Limited equipment hire (and equipment will be cleaned in line with guidelines before being re-issued)

How can you help us?

  • We advise all our users to pre-book their session online or over the phone so there are less people in the building at any one time. If a session is full, we can put you on a waiting list.
  • ALL visitors to XC will be required to wear a face mask at ALL times inside the building and register for Test & Trace with the NHS Covid-19 app upon each and every visit with us.
  • If you do not have a mask, you will not be able to enter our building.
  • Seating is limited and will be available on a first come first served basis.
  • Outside food is not permitted anywhere on site at XC and you will not be permitted to use our seating area to eat food purchased elsewhere.
  • Spectating is only permitted from inside the cafe/seating area and not in the skatepark or climbing area.
  • If you are under the age of 11 or have a medical condition that means you are not required to wear a mask, then these rules do not apply.
  • Any users of our centre not following these rules will be asked to leave the premises and will not be able to continue their session with us on that day.

Skatepark...

  • All users inside the skatepark will be required to wear a face mask at all times. (Including when stood around waiting to ride and resting at any point, including on the ramps).
  • No food allowed inside the skatepark.

  • You are permitted to take in drinks, but these must not be taken onto the ramps.

  • Use hand sanitiser frequently and wash your hands often.

  • Remember to adhere to Social Distancing Guidelines at all times.

  • When your session finishes, you must leave promptly. If it takes you time to gather your belongings at the end of the session you must factor this in to your session time.

  • If you are on more than 1 session with us, you will be required to leave the building completely by the one-way exit system and then re-enter through the one-way entry system and check in with reception for your 2nd session.
  •

Climbing...

  • Simply put, if your feet are on the ground, a face mask must be worn. This now includes when belaying.
If you feel that you cannot communicate well with your climber when belaying with a mask on, we recommend that you do not climb.

  • Use hand sanitiser frequently and wash your hands often.

  • Remember to adhere to Social Distancing Guidelines.

  • When your session finishes, you must leave promptly. If it takes you time to gather your belongings at the end of the session you must factor this in to your session time.
